- Are pets allowed on the premises?
No. Pets are not allowed on the premises or in the surrounding outdoor areas. However, our staff can recommend pet boarding facilities near the estate for the duration of your stay.
- What is the check-in process like at Château de la Barbinière?
Check-in takes place at the front desk located inside the castle itself. Since the estate is quite large, we ask that you not pick up your luggage right away so that we can direct you to the parking lot closest to your room.
Rooms are available starting at 4:00 p.m.
The latest check-in time is 10:30 p.m. After this time, a digital check-in procedure will be sent to you so that you can access your room.
If you arrive early, you may leave your personal belongings at the hotel front desk.
- Are there electric vehicle charging stations?
Yes, our charging stations (two) are part of the Freshmile network. Payment for charging is made directly by credit card at the station. A connection fee of €0.75 is applied, plus a charge of €0.50 per kWh consumed. Since the stations are available on a self-service basis, we are unfortunately unable to reserve charging spots.
- What payment methods are accepted?
We accept payments by credit card (Visa,
Mastercard, and American Express), cash, and check. We do not accept Chèques Vacances or Tickets Restaurant. - Can I change or cancel my reservation?
Yes, you can modify or
cancel your reservation directly through the booking platform, on our website, or by contacting us by phone.Our cancellation policy is as follows:
From April 1, 2026, to October 31, 2026:

- How do I get to the hotel?
The castle is easily
accessible by car from the region’s major cities: about 1 hour
from Angers or Nantes via the A87, and about 20 minutes from Cholet.
From there, simply follow the signs for Saint-Laurent-Sur-Sèvre.The nearest train station is Cholet, located about 25 minutes away by car, depending on traffic.
The nearest airport is Nantes, located about 1 hour away by car, depending on traffic.
Since our property is located some distance from major cities, we recommend that you book a taxi in advance if you do not have a car.
- How far away are you from the Puy du Fou park?
We are located about 11 km, or just 15 minutes,
from Puy-du-Fou.
Restaurant
- Are pets allowed in the restaurant?
No. Pets are not allowed in the restaurant, whether indoors or outdoors.
- What are the opening hours for your restaurants?
Our bistronomic restaurant, L’Orangerie, is open from Tuesday at noon through Sunday at noon, except on Saturday evenings. Weekly closures: Monday, Saturday at noon, and Sunday evenings. Annual closure: the period between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Our crêperie/brasserie, Le Clos Suzette, is open Thursday through Monday, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., from mid-April to mid-October. Weekly closures: Tuesday and Wednesday. Annual closure: mid-October through mid-April.
